Hi, I’m Devid Hoeur!
My career in landscaping didn’t start with a fancy degree or a massive budget. At age 20, I spent my afternoons and weekends outside of my studies riding in a trailer hitched to my uncle’s motorbike.
Because he was an engineer, he would bring me along whenever he secured a new project. I was his assistant for everything from yard clearing and lawn care to planting flowers for residential properties and even home construction.
He trained me in almost every aspect of the industry and taught me how to observe, think critically, and assess projects to gain practical experience.
Building, Closing, and Freezing
In 2015, I took what my uncle taught me and launched my own mid-sized residential landscaping and gardening service, specializing in yard clearing, lawn mowing, and planting.

Within just three months, the business grew, and I was able to hire two additional employees.
However, by mid-2017, I decided to close down this residential business. I had a vision for a new venture called Dream Garden, which I planned to launch in 2018.
Instead of launching, I froze. Paralyzed by the fear of failure and waiting for the “perfect” moment, I spent over a year doing absolutely nothing but waiting, achieving no real progress.
I finally forced myself to take the leap and launched the Dream Garden business in mid-2019. It operated for over a year, but by 2021, the business unfortunately failed.
The Lowest Point and the Birth of GatherHow
Looking back to 2021, when my business had just failed, I was devastated. I remember sitting right in the middle of my failed Dream Garden with just my dog and a computer. I had no mentor and no one to encourage me.

I desperately searched online for a way out. But everything I found only showcased stories of success. I was furious with myself and asked, “Is there no one else in this world who has failed? Am I the only one?”
Right then, I made a promise to myself: one day, when I find success, I will create a platform to share the real stories—the real failures and the real successes.
That was the exact moment GatherHow was born. The name wasn’t just created out of thin air, and GatherHow didn’t happen overnight or in a single month.

The Relaunch (2023 – Present)
I refused to let that failure be the end of the story. I spent the next two years attending professional training courses, analyzing my market competitors, and learning from my mistakes.
During this period of growth, I connected with two other partners. In 2023, the three of us relaunched the business together. Today, Dream Garden continues to operate successfully.

GatherHow is the fulfillment of that promise I made to myself back in the dirt in 2021. I am here to share the exact steps, the bitter failures, and the practical knowledge of how to build a gardening business from scratch. Welcome to the real story.
